Article I
It shall be the duty of every member to act in the public interest. A broker shall be fair to all parties, but shall not forsake their fiduciary responsibilities to their principal.
Article II
The broker shall furnish complete and current information to his or her principal. The broker will not allow his or her personal interest to override the interest of the principal and will make every effort to protect and enhance the best interest of the principal.
Article III
The broker, in the performance of his or her professional duties, or as a party to a transaction, shall make a reasonable effort to determine current and material facts regarding the property or financing under consideration.
Article IV
The broker shall not engage in activities that constitute the unauthorized practice of law and shall recommend that legal counsel be obtained when the interests of any party to the transaction require it.
Article V
A broker shall not accept compensation from more than one party without the full knowledge and consent of all parties to the transaction.
Article VI
A broker shall recommend that title to real property be examined and that the legal counsel of the buyer or seller be consulted in all matters pertaining to the transaction. Real property in this context means any property or interest in any form.
Article VII
A broker shall not acquire or retain any interest in property in which he or she may be called on to act as a broker without making full disclosure of such interest to all parties to the transaction.
Article VIII
The broker shall not make any false or misleading representations or conceal pertinent facts to any principal or other party to the transaction.
Article IX
The broker shall not knowingly make false or misleading representations in advertising or in otherwise promoting his or her services.
Article X
Members shall not engage in conduct that is contrary to good business practices and that tends to bring discredit to the profession.
